Schools, Daycare Centers and All Non-Profit Organizations

We give a 20% discount to all schools, daycare centers and non-profits on all purchases, regardless of the amount.  Please call or email us for details as the discount can vary depending on the particular book(s) involved and the total purchace. We also give free shipping on all purchases invoiced at $100 and higher.

Educators, Homeschoolers, & Licensed Daycare Providers

Educators, homeschoolers, licensed daycare providers are eligible for a Red Balloon Educator Card. It entitles you to a 20% discount on all your purchases.  Use it for items for yourself, gifts and even things you buy for yourself to be used at work. (Please note that all such items are taxable.)  This discount is available to all CURRENT teachers, licensed day care providers and home schoolers. Just bring in a CURRENT school ID or paystub, a home schooling certificate, or daycare license and fill out a short registration form. Leave us your email address if you'd like to receive email notification of special events and sales. YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS NEVER GIVEN OUT. Our Books for Schools Program         

The Red Balloon Bookshop validates receipts for the purchases made by parents, grandparents, teachers and friends during November and December.  The receipts are then turned in to your site council or PTA representative, school librarian or front office during January.  The bookshop will credit participating schools with 20% of purchases made.  There is no limit to how much your children can benefit!

How Do Schools Sign Up?

Just call The Red Balloon Bookshop 651-224-8320, or email us at redballbks@aol.com.  (Please put Books For Schools in the subject line).  Please include your school address, and telephone number, as well as the name of a person with whom to get in touch.

How Can A School Promote Its Participation?

We will send you a letter that you can pass on to your parents.  It will describe what they need to do to participate in this wonderful opportunity.  Just let us know if you need this.  Many schools have been doing this the past few years, and may already be prepared for this.

How Does The Receipt Redemption Process Work?

Once your school is signed up the rest is as easy as A, B, C!

A- Ask a Red Balloon Bookshop bookseller to validate your receipt with the BOOKS FOR SCHOOLS stamp.  Purchases of any store merchandise—books, cards, toys or gifts—qualify.  Purchases receiving educational, institutional, employee or our anniversary discount are excluded.  All purchases must be made November 1 through December 31.

B- Bring all receipts back to school by January 20.

C- Credit will be issued (20% of totals before sales tax) by bringing the receipts to The Red Balloon Bookshop by January 31, 2010.  The 20% credit can be used for anything in the store, including gift certificates, which are great gifts for teachers and incentives for students, as well as books for the classroom and library!
