Keep Reading and Stay Healthy, Friends!

Dear Red Balloon Friends,

On Wednesday, Gov. Walz announced a “Stay at Home” executive order directing all of us to further limit our activity outside of our homes to critical and essential needs.  We know this is an important step in keeping our communities safe and healthy and we encourage all of you to follow this new directive.

We also know that in this time of school and library closures, it’s important that we continue to provide families and teachers with needed books and educational materials.  In that vein, the State of Minnesota has approved Red Balloon Bookshop for “critical worker exemption.”  This allows us to continue to have a few booksellers at the store, practicing safe work conditions, while fulfilling your orders.  We’ll continue offering parking lot pick up, local delivery, and shipping as we have been doing over the past week.

KEEP READING AND STAY HEALTHYStarting Saturday, March 28, we are adjusting our hours as follows:
Phone orders: Tues - Sat, 10 - 2
Parking lot pick up: Tues - Sat, 10 - 2
Local delivery: Tues - Sat, 3 - 6

We will be closed Sundays and Mondays.

Our online store at redballoonbookshop.com continues to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We also have a few new ideas for how you and your kids can continue to engage with our community:

  • The 2nd Annual Summer Reading Bookmark Contest is back! Read more about that HERE.
  • We have a new list of resources to support you in your homeschooling efforts
  • We’re working with our SPPS educator friends to get books to more kids who no longer have access due to school and library closures.  You can read more about the Keep Kids Reading effort and make a donation HERE.

Read more above about our delivery services as well as about all the ways to buy books (including audio books and e-books), games, puzzles and other activities from us.

Please continue taking good care of yourselves, your families, and our communities!

Holly and all the Red Balloon Booksellers
