Red Balloon Bookshop is honored to welcome award-winning and bestselling author Jewell Parker Rhodes to St. Paul with her new book, Ghost Boys. This poignant and timely novel is a heartbreaking and powerful story about a black boy killed by a police officer, drawing connections through history. Join Jewell Parker Rhodes for a talk and Q&A session surrounding Ghost Boys, followed by book signing.

Jewell Parker Rhodes is the author of Towers Falling, Ninth Ward, Sugar, and Bayou Magic. Her middle-grade books have won the Coretta Scott King Honor, the Jane Addams Children’s Book Award, and more. She is also the Virginia G. Piper Endowed Chair in Creative Writing at Arizona State University, and has written many award-winning books for adults.

Ticket Info: This event is free and open to the public, but a ticket is required to enter the signing line.

Tickets may be acquired by purchasing Ghost Boys or any book by Jewell Parker Rhodes from Red Balloon Bookshop. Books and tickets may be purchased online, in store, or over the phone by calling 651-224-8320. If purchasing online, please complete your payment and request a ticket in the Notes field.

Signing Guidelines: Following the presentation, guests will be called by number to wait in the signing line. In addition to your initial purchase, Jewell Parker Rhodes will sign an unlimited number of books purchased from Red Balloon for the event, and up to 4 books brought from home. If time allows, guests may re-enter the signing line to have additional books from home signed.
