Join Kate DiCamillo and John Schu in conversation about their new books, Ferris, and Louder Than Hunger at the University of St. Thomas!
In one of her most memorable books yet, the masterful Kate DiCamillo has outdone herself with a hilarious and achingly real love story about a girl, a ghost, a grandmother, and growing up.
About Louder Than Hunger:
Revered teacher, librarian, and story ambassador John Schu explores anorexia—and self-expression as an act of survival—in a wrenching and transformative novel-in-verse.
To attend: A ticket is required to attend this event, which you can register for below. Your ticket can include either a copy of Ferris or a copy of Louder Than Hunger. One purchase admits up to two guests. Read the ticket options carefully: each option displays the number of seats included in the purchase. You can register for a ticket through March 7, 12:00pm.
Extra copies of Ferris will be available for purchase during the event in addition to other books by the authors, but pre-orders of other titles are encouraged to guarantee your claim to a copy. You can shop other Kate DiCamillo titles at this link and John Schu's books here. If you would like an additional copy of either of the featured books in addition to the one purchased for the event but do not want extra seats, you can preorder the books at the above links and include in your order comments that you will be attending the event.
**UPDATE: Due to shipping delays, Louder Than Hunger will now be published on March 19. Attendees can still purchase tickets bundled with Louder Than Hunger, but copies of the book will no longer be available to pick up at the event. Instead, attendees who would like signed copies of Louder Than Hunger have the option to either pick up their signed copy from Red Balloon or have their book shipped to them by media mail after the book is published. These options are reflected in the updated ticket selections below.
Check In: Copies of Ferris will be available to pick up during check in at the event for those who requested the book in their ticket bundle. Check in will begin at 5:00pm, and doors will open at 5:30pm. Your name is all that is required during check in. Seating is open.
Location & Accessibility: This event will be held at the O'Shaughnessy Education Center Auditorium (OEC) at the University of St. Thomas. This venue is located on the first floor. You can view parking information at this link.
Signing Guidelines: Following the event, Kate DiCamillo and John Schu will sign copies of their books. Signing line tickets will be distributed during check in based on the order of sign-up on Eventbrite. If you would prefer not to stay for the signing portion, Red Balloon is happy to have your books signed for you and will contact you when they're ready to be picked up.
