Laura Purdie Salas & Angela Matteson, IF YOU WANT TO KNIT SOME MITTENSKnitters and story-lovers of all ages are invited to celebrate the release of If You Want to Knit Some Mittens, the new picture book by local author Laura Purdie Salas and illustrator Angela Matteson. Join Laura and Angela on Zoom as they share their new story along with details about making the book. There will be plenty of time for questions from the audience, plus everyone attending will have a chance to win one of two fabulous prizes! Those virtually present could win either a 45-minute Zoom classroom or writing group visit with Laura Purdie Salas or a pair of charming wooden tiles featuring Girl and Sheep, painted by Angela Matteson [picture coming soon!].

To Attend: Use the link below to register for the event. Pre-registration is required! You can register for the event for free, select a bundle of a free ticket and book, or can donate to help us keep events happening. Books purchased for this event will be signed and may be personalized by Laura Purdie Salas. Registration ends at 5:00pm CDT on Nov 3. All registered attendees will be sent the link to join the party 48 hours before the event and on the evening of the event, after ticket sales have ended.

Laura Purdie Salas is the author of more than 130 books for kids, including Bookspeak! Poems About Books , Stampede! Poems to Celebrate the Wild Side of School, and In the Middle of the Night: Poems from a Wide-Awake House. Poetry and rhyming nonfiction books are her favorite things to write. 

Angela Matteson is the illustrator of Grumbles from the Town and In the Middle of the Night. After graduating from the Columbus College of Art & Design, a love of pattern and design led her to work as a greeting card and gift-packaging designer. Her paintings have been shown in galleries, both locally in the Midwest and nationally.
