Red Balloon Bookshop invites you to celebrate the release of Minneapolis author Peter Pearson's newest picture book, How to Walk a Dump Truck...surrounded by actual dump trucks! We're headed out to the Frattalone Construction Center in Little Canada where Peter will be joined by debut middle grade author (and fellow Hamline MFAC alumni) Barbara Carroll Roberts, author of Nikki On the Line. Join these two fantastic authors for an evening of stories, treats, great company, signed books, and maybe even a song or two!
All are welcome at this family-friendly, multi-author storytime and book party! Please note - this event is happening at the Frattalone Construction Center, 3205 Spruce St, Little Canada, MN 55117
Peter Pearson is the author of How to Eat an Airplane, and earned his MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University in 2012. Peter has received awards, grants, and other recognition from Hamline, the Loft Literary Center, the Minnesota State Arts Board, and the Anderson Center. He also makes pretty good pancakes and is sort of tall.
Barbara Carroll Roberts is a graduate of Hamline University's Writing for Children and Young Adults MFA program. She played competitive sports in high school and always wished there had been books in her library about athletic girls. That desire --- and the realization that there still aren't many books about girls who truly love sports --- inspired her to write Nikki on the Line. She lives outside of Washington, D.C. with her family and their many pets.
