Red Balloon Bookshop, University of Minnesota Libraries and The Kerlan Friends present Raina Telgemeier on tour for her latest graphic novel, Ghosts. Join us and the bestselling author of Sisters, Smile, and Drama at the University of Minnesota, Cowles Auditorium at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs for an evening presentation, Q&A, and book signing.
Ticket Info: This event is free and open to the public, but a ticket is required to enter the signing line. Signing tickets may be obtained in one of two ways:
- Purchase a copy of Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier from Red Balloon Bookshop to reserve an advance signing ticket. Discounts do not apply. Books can purchased in-store, over the phone by calling 651-224-8320, or online at www.redballoonbookshop.com. See store hours. If purchasing online, please request a ticket in the "notes" field and prepay. Online ticket requests will be honored through 6pm on Saturday, September 17. Tickets and books will also be available for purchase at the event, though advance purchase is recommended.
- Register with UMN here z.umn.edu/raina to reserve a seat for the presentation. Signing tickets for guests not making an advance purchase from Red Balloon will be distributed at the event on Sept. 19th beginning at 6:00pm
Purchase is not required to enter the signing line. Advance signing tickets will be given to guests who purchase books from Red Balloon Bookshop. Your support of Red Balloon is appreciated!
Advance tickets and books may be picked up at the store beginning Tuesday, Sept. 13th, through Sunday, Sept. 18th. Tickets and books will also be available at Will Call at the Cowles Auditorium on Monday, Sept. 19th, beginning at 6:00pm.
LOCATION DETAILS: This event will be held at the University of Minnesota, Cowles Auditorium at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, 301 19th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55455. Doors open at 6:00pm; event start time is 6:30pm.
SIGNING GUIDELINES: At the time of your book purchase, or upon your arrival at the event, you will be assigned a ticket number. This indicates your place in the signing line. Directly following the talk and Q&A on Sept. 19th, signing number holders will be called up to wait in line. Those 12 years old and under may be accompained in line by an adult. Guests may have a total of 4 books signed and personalized. These books may be brought from home or purchased from Red Balloon Bookshop, either in advance or at the event. If time allows, guests may be allowed to reenter the line and have additional books signed.
PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDELINES: Photos without flash are allowed and encouraged; however, due to time restrictions, photos with Raina Telgemeier in the signing line may be limited to "unposed" photos only. A Red Balloon team member will be on hand to help take your photo while you meet the authors.
